Bill Drath

Bill is a Senior Fellow at the Center for Creative Leadership in Greensboro, NC. Over the course of thirty years at CCL, Bill established the publications function, founded the periodical now known as Leadership in Action, was on the team that did the research behind CCL’s Awareness Program for Executive Excellence, and helped develop the original version of the Looking Glass Experience program. He has written numerous articles and book chapters and is the author of the book The Deep Blue Sea: Rethinking the Source of Leadership published in 2001 by Jossey-Bass.

Bill’s current interests involve exploring leadership as a collective activity. He is part of a team at CCL that is framing leadership as an organizational capacity to create direction, alignment, and commitment. He also works in the classroom as a facilitator in the Looking Glass Experience.

Bill received an A.B. in English literature from the University of Georgia and attended graduate school at the University of North Carolina.
