Vidula Bal, Ph.D.

Vidula is an Open Enrollment Program Manager for the Center for Creative Leadership® Colorado Springs Campus. She manages the Center’s flagship program, the Leadership Development Program (LDP), as well as an innovative program called Leadership and High-Performance Teams (LHPT). This dual role leaves her with one foot in the Center’s established domain of individual leader development and the other in the newer domain of leading teams and organizations.

Beyond her management responsibilities, her role spans multiple functions at the Center. She facilitates a variety of programs including the Leadership Development Program, the Looking Glass Experience, and Leadership and High-Performance Teams. She also serves in a lead faculty role on custom client engagements. When she is not in the classroom, she advances the Center’s learning agenda by conducting research on leadership and teams.

Before coming to the Center, Vidula was on the faculty of the Speech Communication Department at Texas A&M University where she taught courses ranging from Interpersonal and Group Communication to Public Speaking. During this time, she also provided communication consulting to a number of state agencies in Texas. Her research has been published in several venues including the Encyclopedia of Television, Personnel Psychology, and Leadership in Action.

Vidula holds a Ph.D. in communication studies from the University of Texas at Austin where her research explored the role of communication in times of organizational change.

In addition to her responsibilities with the Center, Vidula volunteers for several animal welfare organizations including Golden Retriever Freedom Rescue. Her work in that arena has led her to foster rescued golden retrievers, an arrangement that works perfectly well for her black lab, Avi, who has gotten pretty good at playing well with others.
